Aged under optimal conditions by the domaine, this red Burgundy is a premium estate release by Vincent Girardin. Although Chassagne-Montrachet is mainly thought of as a Chardonnay hub, there are still plots of Pinot Noir, harkening back to the area's red grape provenance. Michael brought in a limited amount of this library release after having lunch with Vincent Girardin's export manager. A Premier Cru red Burgundy offering exceptional value.

Vincent Girardin is the son of Santenay winemakers who began making wine at age 19. Here he crafts a wine with dense black fruits that contrast a mineral edge. The tannins promise age worthiness, but this 2016 is drinking beautiful now.

Located in Chassagne-Montrachet within the Côte-d'Or department of Burgundy, the La Boudriotte Premier Cru plot sits at the foot of a large slope benefiting from soils that have washed down contributing to the wine's minerality.

Limited quantity of this premium red Burgundy. Single bottles available for $90. Two or more bottles for $75 a piece.
